Real
Campoamor
course
information
A
very pretty site heralds a
pleasant day's golfing in
rather open countryside, where
the garrigue shrub is the
main and most attractive form
of vegetation. The course
is not hilly, and the length
will appeal to big-hitters,
who can try and reach two
very short par 4s (the 11th
and 13th) from the tee and
pick up points on the par
5s.
The Sanz and García
layout has nothing exceptionally
imaginative about it, but
their aim was to appeal to
players, so the course's functional
side is a positive point.
The greens are good but have
a few bunkers, and the opportunities
are there to card a good score,
always a
welcome
treat for the wounded ego. You can
certainly find more challenging
courses than this in the region,
but Campoamor is a great place to
sharpen up your game without too
many mishaps.
Located
10 km from Torrevieja, the Royal
Campoamor Golf Club opened in 1989
and was designed by Carmelo Gracias
Caselles.
