Alenda
course
information
The
Alenda Golf Club is situated
very close to the Sierra de
las Aguilas mountains and
the sea, and this location
means it has a pleasant climate.
It is an 18-hole course, with
a gentle, undulating and varied
round. It is very entertaining
for players of all levels,
and you will really need to
use all of your clubs. It’s
quite a quick round, as all
of the holes are linked together
and the walks from green to
tee are short.
The first nine holes are medium
length and favour the accurate
player over the big hitter.
The holes are easy to play
and the fairways are very
wide, which helps on the tee
shots. The back nine holes
require more concentration,
because this
is
the technical part of the course
where accuracy is more important
than distance. You have to be careful
on the 16th -a very long and difficult
hole due to the danger lurking on
both sides of the fairway- and 18th,
-called La Loma, where to reach
the green in two shots the drive
has to clear the out-of-bounds-.
These are the two holes which will
decide the final result on your
scorecard.
The
greens give a special character
to the course because the slopes
allow for a wide variety of flag
positions and you will need to visualise
the break very clearly when putting
and hit the ball with just the right
amount of "oomph" if you
want to hole out in good order.
